I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. I attended Zion Lutheran School from Kindergarten through 8th grade. After high school I went to Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Michigan for 2 years and then finished college at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. I accepted a call to Redeemer in 1972 and have been here ever since. In 1980, I received a Master's Degree in reading from Concordia, Seward. I have taught in all grades from third through eighth, but I really enjoy the third grade! I was the interim principal at RCS for one year and soon discovered I would much rather stay in the classroom.
In addition to teaching third grade, I play piano for chapel services and also direct the Primary Chorus. The Primary Chorus is made up of all first through third graders. We practice twice a week and sing in church about every six weeks. I direct the Chorale (one of the church choirs) here at Redeemer. Once a month, our church visits Maison Aine, a nursing home in Stow. I regularly play the piano for that service, too
I am very thankful that God has given me the opportunity to share the Good News of His love and grace with the young people I teach. My greatest joy is seeing how children grow in their relationship of faith and life with God.
