About Lisa Burnside
I grew up in Cuyahoga Falls and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School where I participated in Accapella Choir, M&M's, marching/concert/pep band, stage crew, church choir and church youth group.
I started college as a music major but graduated from the Univeristy of Akron with a degree in Elementary Education and certification in Early Elementary Education. I married my husband, Paul Scott Burnside and left for England the following fall. Paul was in the Air Force and we lived in England for 6 years, Arizonia for 11 months and Grand Forks, North Dakota for 2 1/2 years. We moved 10 times in 10 years. Our daughter Heather was born in England, and our triplets, Devin, April and Lacy were born in Arizona. We moved back to Ohio when Paul left the service and we have been in this area ever since.
I started at RCS in 1999 as a First Grade Teacher and RCS Choir Director. The following year I moved to Second Grade where I stayed until I moved into my current position in 2006. I now teach general music K - 6, middle school bands and chorus, bell choirs and I am the coordinator of music for Redeemer Lutheran Church. I also sing with our Chorale.
Paul is the Assistant Women's Softball Coach for Bluffton Univeristy where he is pursuing his Masters Degree in Buisness Management. My daughter, Heather, and Son in Law, Alex, had my first grandbaby (Xander) in December of 2008. They attend the University of Akron. Alex works for Best Buy. Alex is in the Army Reserves and just returned from his second tour in Iraq. My son Devin is attending school for the Army in Florida. April is attending the University of Charleston in West Virgina. She is playing softball for them. Lacy is working at Best Buy up at Chapel Hill.
I love gardening, good music, good food, good friends and quiet moments. I am blessed to be able to share my love for Jesus and music with my students. God Bless!
